Beauty and the Beast is amazing, as you all know by now (check out our review). But it could have been even more amazing – there was very nearly a Frozen Easter egg.

The neat little reference would have involved Josh Gad, who plays LeFou in Beauty and the Beast and voiced the loveable snowman Olaf in Disney's 2013 monster hit Frozen.

We'll let Josh reveal what could have happened...

He told People: "The Easter egg I fought for [director] Bill Condon to put in but we never did, there's a moment in the original where a bunch of snow falls on LeFou and he becomes a snowman and I thought, 'This could kill'.

"It's a little meta but it could be great."

How awesome would that have been? But alas, that doesn't happen in the movie.

Regardless, Beauty and the Beast has been a hit at the box office, taking more than $350 million worldwide so far – including $170m in its opening weekend in the US.

This is despite countries including Malaysia and Kuwait attempting to censor the movie. There have also been homophobic petitions. No idea why this is happening – the "exclusively gay moment" involving LeFou should not even be a controversy.

At least Malaysia is now going to release Beauty and the Beast without any cuts.

The huge box office earnings around the world send a loud and clear message in the wake of the bizarre drama – that love beats hate.
