Behold: 'Summer House: Martha's Vineyard' Stars Jasmine Ellis Cooper and Silas Cooper's Relationship Timeline

Bravo fans were introduced to a new reality TV couple when Summer House: Martha's Vineyard premiered in May 2023: Jasmine Ellis Cooper and Silas Cooper, who really brought the cast together. Jasmine became friends with some of the women while working with them and Silas had one of his fraternity brothers in the house, so there were connections galore. And while they initially came across as perfectly happy newlyweds, some issues between them began surface (like, by the end of the first episode). They got into arguments over things like the way Jasmine ironed Silas' pants, some viewers (and housemates) found Silas controlling, and Jasmine's friends said they felt like she was changing her personality because of the relationship. In one confessional, Jasmine even said, "I don’t really feel connected wit the man I fell in love with... If we don't fix this, we might not have a home to come back to."

While the couple didn't really end the first season on the best note, Silas and Jasmine stayed together, worked on their relationship, and have since gone on to welcome a child. As we wait for word on season 3 of the show, let's rewind back to the beginning to see how this couple met in the first place.

Jasmine and Silas met toward the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic after connecting on a dating app. In an Instagram post about their engagement, Jasmine explained, "1/1/20 over dinner with some girlfriends I said 'I’m going to meet my husband this year'. Then three weeks into lockdown I’m headed to Union Square for a social distance date with this guy I met on @hinge."

January 16, 2021

In January 2021, Silas proposed to Jasmine in New York City's Union Square where they first met!

"1/16/21 #ISAIDYES to a man who was made for me and I for him," Jasmine wrote as part of a lengthy Instagram caption. "Our love is restorative and reciprocal. Silas, You’re what jazz feels like. Water to my earth."

In his own post about the engagement, Silas shared, "Last week I took my best friend back to the place we first met and asked her to marry me. Jasmine -meeting you has brought me happiness, hope, and inspiration in such an uncertain time."

June 26, 2022

About a year and a half after they got engaged, Silas and Jasmine tied the knot on June 26, 2022. "Silas I’m so at peace when I’m with you," Jasmine posted alongside a series of herself and Silas at their wedding. "Thank you for loving me as fiercely as you do. Becoming your (Liberian) wife is a luxury I never saw coming. You are my first and now forever Love."

September 2022

As they explained on the premiere episode of the show, Jasmine and Silas started filming Summer House: Martha's Vineyard three months after they got married. During the premiere (which aired in May 2023), Silas said Martha's Vineyard was "the place that she became my girl, so this is like full circle to be here."

Spring 2023

Silas and Jasmine went on their honeymoon nearly a year after they got married. Both reality stars posted about their trip to London, Paris, and Barcelona on Instagram, and it looked like they had a lot of fun! Jasmine posted videos of them riding a Vespa, dining out, and taking in a view of the Eiffel Tower. Silas shared photos of their travels, too, including Jasmine posing in front of a market and them standing together at the Louvre.

SH:MV began airing in May 2023, and Jasmine and Silas found themselves on the receiving end of criticism about their relationship—both from their friends on the show and from viewers. In an interview with Us Weekly around the time of the premiere, Silas addressed castmates' claims that he was controlling toward Jasmine.

"I don’t want to be on defense about it. I understand why folks may look at it and I respect their opinion," he said. "I think one thing I’ve learned about myself is that routines have worked for me. Structure has worked for me. Knowing that I care about the folks around me, and I have a huge responsibility [is part of who I am]. Whether it’s army, whether it is this woman I love, whether it’s the job I have. And sometimes I’m not as flexible and I can own that."

Jasmine pointed out that she and Silas had gone through a lot just before the show filmed, with him being away for the military right before their wedding. "I think our friends knew that [Silas] being gone for half a year for military training was, like, a thing that was happening. But [then] to come back and have the wedding and have this trip, I think we all kind of underestimated how we had to relearn each other. And we are not even [at] one year of marriage yet."

June 26, 2023

Silas and Jasmine celebrated one year of marriage in June 2023!

"The last 365 days have been opportunities. Opportunities to listen, to reflect, to lean on our inner circle and to evolve this beautiful thing called partnership," Jasmine wrote on Instagram. "Happy First Anniversary to the love of a lifetime."

As for Silas, he posted on the social media platform, "A year ago today you made me the happiest man in the world. As we continue our growth as a Team, I’m thankful for your patience, grace and love. Happy Anniversary babe."

Summer 2023

The second season of Summer House: Martha's Vineyard filmed in the summer 2023. And while Jasmine returned for another round of drama and fun with her cast mates, Silas did not because he was deployed while the show was in production. During the season 2 premiere, Jasmine explained that Silas would be gone for 10 months.

November 2023

In November 2023, Jasmine and Silas announced they would be welcoming a baby together. "My 'mom-era' is loading and my heart is so full right now. Silas and I will be welcoming Baby Cooper February 2024!" Jasmine wrote on Instagram.

As fans of the show saw, Jasmine had shared the news with her housemates a couple of months earlier, though as most of them said in their confessionals, they could already tell she was pregnant before she gave her big announcement. (Mostly because of her boobs—thanks for the clarification Bria, Summer, and Shanice!)

February 2024

Silas "Si" Geplay Cooper Jr. was born on February 22, 2024. Jasmine shared the news along with photos of herself holding her son in their home. (She had previously told Us Weekly that Silas would not be able to be there for Si's birth given deployment.)

April 14, 2024

Jasmine gave an update on her and Silas' relationship during an April appearance on Watch What Happens Live while season 2 of SH:MV was airing. She said that she, Silas, and their new little one were able to keep in touch while he was deployed in eastern Europe. "Shoutout to WhatsApp and FaceTime. We talk everyday," she said.

Also during the WWHL appearance, Jasmine talked about her and Silas' relationship and the backlash he faced after season 1. "I'm not going to defend him. That was unacceptable, period," she said of his behavior on the show. "But I think only I have the proximity and the power to hold him accountable, which I’ve done since then." She added, "Counseling works, I’ll just put it that way"

May 2024

Silas returned home from his deployment and was able to meet Si in person, which he posted about on Instagram. In a May 2024 post, he wrote, "Honey I'm home" and shared pictures of himself, Jasmine, and their baby together.

As reported by Deadline, a third season of Summer House: Martha's Vineyard has been put on hold by Bravo, so it's unclear when—or if—Jasmine and Silas will return to our TV screens. For now, if you want to see what else they have going on, these two will probably share the latest on their own terms on social media!
