Beverley Knight collapses on stage at Albert Hall concert

It hasn’t been the best of years for poor old Beverley Knight.

Just weeks after it was revealed she’d had to ramp up security after a mysterious inferno outside her London home, The Bodyguard star reportedly collapsed on stage at the Albert Hall mid-performance last night.

Beverley was belting out a cover of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You at the Children In Need Rocks for Terry concert, and apparently gasped and dropped to the floor in the middle of the song. Crew members sprinted on stage to come to her aid and the concert was temporarily halted.

The 43-year-old star’s people told the Mirror: “Bev is fine now. She was in a very hot dressing room back stage and left to go straight on stage where she suddenly felt faint mid performance.

“Medics saw her back stage afterwards and said she had low blood sugar but after 30 minutes she felt much better and they signed her off to perform the number later in the evening - which she did without further issues.”

“Unfortunately, Beverley Knight was feeling faint whilst performing on stage at BBC Children In Need Rocks For Terry,” added a BBC spokesperson. “She has since been attended to by medics, is feeling much better, and we wish her the very best as she makes a full recovery.“

“Thanks Beverley for coming back on stage. Amazing performance at Children In Need Rocks.”

Other stars appearing at the Albert Hall show, which celebrated the life of TV legend Terry Wogan, included Ellie Goulding, Olly Murs, Gregory Porter and Rick Astley.
