Big Brother to draft in celebs to save 'flagging show' following Arthur's shock exit

TV bosses reportedly resorting to special measures and will call in a string of known celebs to liven up series 18 of Big Brother after the Channel 5 show got off to a slow start.

Bosses fear they are hemorrhaging viewers and rival show Love Island is soaking up its fans, but have a plan in place to up the ante by sending in a group of celebs for a week as part of a huge shake-up to pull in the viewers.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper the measure was a tell-tale sign bosses were worried, explaining: “Throwing celebrities into the house in week two is a clear sign that they are desperate.”

Ellie Young’s Ibiza Weekender co-star revealed she’s preparing to enter the Big Brother house to steal Lotan Carterand away from her pal, after they signed up to the reality series together.

Hayley Fanshaw thinks the Dreamboys hunk is not really into Ellie and she’ll cause friction between the pair.

She told The Sun Online: “I’m on standby. Now Ellie’s getting with Lotan I think maybe [they will put me in]. Usually what happens with Ellie, she’ll like someone. She’ll introduce me and I end up getting with them.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Arthur Fulford’s sudden exit on Sunday, which was met with shock from his housemates, and following his departure, viewers flocked to Twitter to claim Arthur had been bullied.

In case you missed it, last night 55-year-old nightclub owner Joe Quaranta put Raph Korine up for eviction.

Explaining why he chose Raph to face Friday’s eviction, he said: “He’s too intelligent and hasn’t really mucked in like everyone else.”

While inside the diary room, Raph revealed his opinions on the house.

He said: “In my opinion, the popular crew is Kayleigh, Ellie, Rebecca, Lotan, Kieran, Tom and their leader is Joe.

“And then in the exile crew, there is no leader cos we’re a democracy, it’s me, Imran, Sukhvinder, Deborah … in the middle Hannah and Charlotte.”
