Ravenous Big Brother stars are being driven to argue with each other in the "pressure cooker" environment because they are so hungry, according to evicted star and house chef Dylan.

Dylan told Yahoo: "For the last two days, there were zero things to eat in the fridge. We were on tinned tuna the day before and then we had completely run out."

The DJ, 39, was evicted on Friday in the first double eviction after sparking outrage when he accused Trish and Noky of "Black on Black crime" for secretly nominating him in the Halloween twist.

But the reality star, who is an amputee, has expressed his regret over his furious outburst and he admitted it was having "literally no food" that led to the explosive moment.

The Big Brother stars get a limited amount of money to spend on food each week but without careful planning and cooking, the housemates find themselves running out of food.

This has become a huge source of tension in the house, especially where some of the housemates feel others are eating more than them.

As the house chef, he explained: "I tried to sort out the food which everybody was like you’re controlling the food, which I wasn’t, I was just trying to make sure that everybody ate."

Watch the moment the explosive row breaks out between Dylan and Trish on Halloween:

Behind the scenes, Dylan explained Halloween was a really long day for the stars as they had to get up really early as well as put lots of effort into dressing up.

Then he explained the stars had to spend three hours at a time waiting between the tasks, with Big Brother leaving them all on edge with its eerie announcement: "One of you will not survive."

It was Kerry who went home on Halloween.

Of the lack of food on Halloween, Dylan added: "Big Brother gave us pasta and kidney beans, do you know what I mean? That’s all they wanted to give us. So you can imagine how we were feeling running on fumes, literally no food.

"And then having all that day to wait at the end of the day while Big Brother is saying, ‘One of you will not survive, one of you will not survive.'

"So we were all sitting around thinking, ‘Oh my god, what’s going on? It’s the pressure. It was a really, really bad one. And when it came out that Trish and Noky nominated me. I was just so, so upset. I was hurt, if anything. These are my good friends."

He added: "I will forever regret that."

We know from watching of course that Dylan wasn't the only housemate impacted by the lack of food – Jenkin too has been struggling.

However, the DJ lifted the lid on how the small amounts of food was having a knock on effect on the whole house – in spite of how it is being edited.

"Everyone was at the end of their tether," he said. "And that's where this thing, this narrative of me being snappy has come from. Everybody says that I was snappy and everybody says that Jenkin was moaning.

"Somebody else was moaning when in reality, everybody was moaning because we was all hungry.

"I look a bit bigger than everybody else. And it was like, 'Are you snappy?' I'm not, I'm just whinging because I'm hungry. Like everybody else! Angry is hangry in and everybody was. That's how it was."

DJ Dylan had already been up for the public vote twice and been saved before he was evicted in the double eviction.

Coming out to boos from the crowd initially took the TV star by surprise when he made his dramatic exit from the Big Brother house on Friday. “It was a scary time,” he said. “I’ve been saved twice, do you know what I mean?

“I thought, I'm not too bad here and then when I came out and everyone was booing, it was kind of a surprise. I was like: whoa, whoa, whoa.

“What's gone off here? But it's all part of the experience, I suppose. And as soon as you get into here and then sit down on the chairs here, the same people that are booing you are then cheering you again. It’s just part of the experience."

Big Brother continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
