Bill Bailey shares dramatic transformation as he chops off signature long locks

Comedian Bill Bailey has shared a dramatic transformation as he posted a snap on his Instagram - after chopping off his signature long locks. The 59-year-old, from Bath, has long been known for his shoulder-length 'do - but has gone for a fresher look for the summer, as he has had the mane chopped off.

Sharing a photo with his 355,000 Instagram followers, which has been by almost 23,000 fans in just a few hours, he wrote: "Had a bit of a trim for the summer." And fellow celebs were quick to compliment his new look, as Dawn French wrote: "May I just say... PHWOAR!", to which Bailey responded: "May I say why thank you ma'am!".

Meanwhile, Bailey's former Strictly Come Dancing dance partner, Oti Mabuse, who helped lead him to victory on the BBC competition in 2020, commented: "I still cannot believe this!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE."

However, others have reacted with a greater amount of shock, as one follower wrote: "I'm fairly sure that this is one of the signs of the apocalypse."

Another added: "I have never been so shook by a haircut. Suits you, but also now questioning my entire existence. Who even am I without Bill Bailey's long hair?"

And a third remarked: "It's potentially the biggest breaking news so far this year."

Bill Bailey will be going on tour in the UK early next year, with tickets available through Ticketmaster - and hopefully, by then, some of his locks will have grown back.
