Birmingham to bake in 24C as Met Office shares 'warm and humid' warning

Warm weather is set to continue this weekend throughout Birmingham and the wider West Midlands. It follows a run of cold temperatures felt throughout the UK.

But Brits can fire the BBQs back up with 24C predicted to hit the city next week. The Met Office has forecast temperatures of 22C for Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, before the hot weather peaks on Monday, June 24.

The forecast came with a "warm and humid" message from Met Office, which also warned the weather could turn cloudy. It said: "Largely dry with variable cloud and bright or sunny spells on Sunday.

"Mostly fine and dry, with bright or sunny spells Monday and Tuesday. Rather warm and humid too."

This evening, Friday, June 21, rain is expected to fall at around 11pm. A spokesperson for Met Office added: "It will be a mostly fine and dry day, with warm sunny spells. However, it will turning increasingly cloudy from the west during the afternoon, with a band of rain reaching western parts by evening.

"Generally light winds, breezier later. Maximum temperature 22C." Pollen counts are set to be 'very high' for the next few days which could mean misery for hay fever sufferers.

Speaking of the risk, the Met Office said: "Grass pollen will rise in warm, dry weather. Nettle, dock and plantain too."
