Temperatures are set to soar in Bolton reaching the same as Mexico City next week.

Despite there being some light rain forecasted, Bolton will be bathed in glorious sunshine  on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures reaching highs of 24°C.

From today, June 21 to Sunday, June 23, the weather is set to be mainly dry on Friday, although turning breezier perhaps with some rain overnight.

Saturday will see a mix of sunshine and the odd shower, but the weather will be mainly dry with warm sunshine on Sunday.

This weekend's weather forecast according to The Met Office:

Friday, June 21: Sunny intervals changing to overcast in the afternoon - highs of 21°C.

Saturday, June 22: Overcast changing to sunny intervals by late morning - highs of 19°C.

Sunday, June 23: Light rain changing to overcast by late morning - highs of 21°C.

The weather forecasters, The Met Office, have also looked into next week’s weather and moving into July – although they warn the  forecasts for local detail are not as accurate.

The Met Office say: “When looking at forecasts beyond five days into the future, the chaotic nature of the atmosphere starts to come into play - small events currently over the Atlantic can have potentially significant impacts on our weather in the UK in several days' time.

“Therefore, whilst we can still forecast the general feel of the weather to a relatively high level of accuracy using our ensemble models, it becomes harder to offer local detail to as high a level of accuracy as our shorter range forecasts.”

The Met Office has shared the forecast for Sunday June 23 to Tuesday July 2.

A spokesman said: “Predominantly fine and settled through the period and for much of the country turning much warmer than we have seen in recent weeks.

“At first some thicker cloud could bring some outbreaks of mostly light rain, this mainly affecting western, especially north-western areas.

“However, for most it will be dry throughout, and likely to turn increasingly warm as we move into next week.

“There is a chance that this could persist for much of the rest of the period, turning increasingly hot, however by mid-next week we see a large range of outcomes.

“Some of which allow for a return of much cooler conditions and northerly winds for the latter part of next week. However, the trend toward much warmer conditions is preferred for now.”

Weather predicted for Bolton from Monday, June 24 to Wednesday, June 26:

Monday, June 24: Sunny changing to cloudy in the afternoon - highs of 24°C.

Tuesday, June 25: Sunny intervals - highs of 24°C.

Wednesday, June 26: Sunny changing to light showers by early evening - highs of 23°C.
