Brad Pitt to miss his new film's premiere to focus on his 'family situation'

It has been confirmed that Brad Pitt will not be attending the premiere of his new film, ‘Voyage of Time’, tonight – because he doesn’t want his high-profile split from Angelina Jolie to detract attention away from the movie.

Brad and Angelina shocked the world when they confirmed their split last week, with Angelina filing for divorce following an unknown “incident”.

Speaking in a statement, Brad said of tonight’s no-show: “Terrence’s Voyage of Time is an incredibly beautiful and unique experiential IMAX film for children and families chronicling the birth of time.

“I’m very grateful to be part of such a fascinating and educational project, but I’m currently focused on my family situation and don’t want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film, which I encourage everyone to see.”

The move comes after a source claimed that the two stars, who have six children together, tried everything that they could in a bid to make their marriage work.

The insider dished: “Every married couple has its own dynamics. Fame adds an additional complication but they are going through what many families face.

“It’s a difficult time… It has been a very difficult time. It’s been a very hard decision to make, but ultimately they both did the best they could to make the relationship work. Both sides are hurting very deeply right now.

“They were always very deeply in love, very passionate, very intense and very romantic. They were never shy about showing their emotions and love for one another in front of people, they knew that their bond was something special.

“They were a good partnership created from two very different personalities but they were bound together by this deep love. They had a joint mutual outlook on life and the strength of their family unit was at the centre of it.”

Meanwhile, Brad’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, has had her best friend and former ‘Friends’ co-star, Courteney Cox, defend her after her name got unfairly dragged into the divorce speculation.

The actress said of Brangelina’s break-up: “It’s not about [Jennifer]. I feel like we’re exacerbating it by even talking about it”
