The Brady Bunch Kids Just Reunited to Talk About New HGTV Show: 'It's Been a Really Long Time'

It’s a sunshine day!

Today cohosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb got The Brady Bunch kids together to talk about their new HGTV renovation series —A Very Brady Renovation— on Wednesday.

“It’s been a really long time since all of us have been back together,” Maureen McCormick explained on the show. “I think everyone looks at the projects as they come, and this one I think just got us all. It was HGTV who, you know, their programming is amazing, this whole show is filled with so much love, the crew everybody behind it—it’s a work of love.”

The new series will make its debut this year, and follows the six original cast members — TV siblings Barry Williams (Greg), McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) — as they renovate the house that served as the famous Brady home in the beloved 1970’s sitcom.

Each sibling was assigned a room of the house to restore — with help from some HTGV experts along the way, including Property Brothers stars Jonathan and Drew Scott, Good Bones‘ Mina Starsiak and Karen E Laine, Flea Market Flip‘s Lara Spencer, Restored by the Fords siblings Leanne and Steve Ford and Hidden Potential‘s Jasmine Roth.

“So much great help there as far as design goes,” Plumb said to Guthrie and Kotb. “They’re very specific about what goes into the house, they are trying to make it look exactly like the set, down to the wallpaper.”

According to Williams, there is a nationwide search for the horse that originally sat in the Brady living room.

And the Brady cast has a very hands-on role in the whole process Plumb added, noting they were “staining cabinets and hammering nails.”

The whole project has been a trip down memory lane for the faux siblings, who said that working on restoring the house was sentimental and nostalgic.

“Susan and I built the dog house the other day,” Lookinland revealed of the dog house where he and Olsen shared an off-screen romance.

“And then we made-out in it again,” Olsen joked.

They also opened up to Guthrie and Kotb about the challenges of growing up as child actors who were part of such a popular show — speaking to the expectations of fans. However, all of the challenges didn’t take away from their overwhelming sense of gratitude.

“I mean, seriously, I’m just so grateful to have been a part of that show,” McCormick said. “It’s in so many people’s hearts everywhere and it makes people feel good. How lucky are we to have been a part of that.”
