Britain's Got Talent fans 'work out' Batman identity after aerial performance

Britain's Got Talent fans think they've figured out who The Dark Hero is after his stunning performance wowed the judges.

During Saturday night's episode, a contestant appeared on stage dressed as the superhero and performed an operatic rendition of the song 'Gravity'. Fans have speculated that the mystery contestant might be a famous singer hiding their identity.

The mysterious performer, whose real name remains a secret, captivated Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli with his aerial rendition of "Defying Gravity" while donning a Batman costume. The panel was visibly impressed by the act, and viewers were equally enthralled.

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly also enjoyed the spectacle, with Dec even dashing onto the stage when The Dark Hero was quizzed about Robin's whereabouts. Standing next to The Dark Hero, Dec looked up at the towering figure, prompting laughter from the audience, reports the Mirror.

Their performance led viewers to speculate that the Batman costume was a disguise for a well-known singer. One fan wrote: "Guessing Batman was dressed up so he didn't speak to hide his identity.

Whoever he is that was brilliant and one of my favourite musical theatre songs. #Gravity #BGT," whilst another wrote: "Why the f*** would you do opera dressed as Batman unless he is trying to hide his identity as a famous singer. #BGT."

Additionally, a third fan commented: "Hasn't the guy dressed as batman been on before but as himself and made it through to finals. Is that why he didn't speak so he didn't have to say who he was and they'd know he was on before #bgt."

Social media reactions included one fan exclaiming: "i've just seen batman singing defying gravity with a good voice whilst flying what the actual f*** #BGT," while another commented: "#BGT Was not expecting that! I want Batman to win! ."

Meanwhile, presenters Ant and Dec have shared their excitement for the new series of Britain's Got Talent, stating that even after 17 years, the show still manages to surprise them.

Dec remarked: "One of the joys of doing Britain's Got Talent is that you never quite know what's coming next, and that's why we love doing it. Even in our 17th series, we have had stuff that we've never seen before. We've certainly not had an extreme pogo stick act before, alongside several other acts that are still surprising us after all these years."

Simon Cowell also expressed his delight with the show's longevity, teasing what fans can expect this year. He commented: "I watched all the yes tapes back and honestly; it's going to be an amazing show this year. It's just different and it's fun and it's got everything you want from BGT. It's got a heart, great stories, things we'd never seen before, which is important because you don't want to just keep repeating the same thing year on year. So overall, I couldn't be happier," he said.
