The new series of Britain's Got Talent is nearly over already, as fans claim to have 'rumbled' when this year's final is and it's not far away at all. And specuation on the dates for when the show will end comes as too acts are now neck and neck in the odds on who will win.

Having launched back in 2007, with Paul Potts the first ever champion, BGT has now been a staple of ITV's spring/summer schedule for 17 years, with its other champions including Diversity, Collabro, Lost Voice Guy, Spelbound and, last year's winner, Viggo Venn. The latest run of Britain's Got Talent launched in April, with the Golden Buzzer hit twice in the first episode, firstly by Amanda Holden and then hosts Ant and Dec.

As BGT's return took over the primetime schedule on ITV1 for two nights in a row, Alesha Dixon pressed the Buzzer in episode two, with Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli then following suit. That meant that, going into last weekend's episode, all five Golden Buzzer acts had been chosen, with singer Sydnie Christmas, taekwondo troupe Ssaulabi, singing group Ravi's Dream, dancers Cyberagent Legit and singer Taryn Charles all sent straight through to the live semi finals.

Throwing the rule book out the widow, Amanda threw caution to the wind by hitting the buzzer again last week, to also give impressionist Nabe a guaranteed place in the knock outs and now we know when they will take place.

Ticket site Applause Store list the BGT semi final dates as May 27-30, which means that this year's final is set to either be on Saturday, June 1 or Sunday, June 2.

Back in the early days of Britain's Got Talent, the final was always held on a Saturday, with huge audiences tuning in to see classic finales like Diversity v Susan Boyle in 2009. However, in more recent years, the final has happened on a Sunday, after five semis Monday-Friday, rather than the four being advertised this year.

Having caused a bit of a stir with her first audition, as her existing musical career was exposed, Sydnie Christmas became bookies favourite, but now she shares top spot in the betting with Denise and Stefan. After they reduced Bruno to tears with their audition last week, they are now on the same odds as Sydnie - 3/1 - with Gambling.com.

Elsewhere, Simon's Golden Buzzer act CyberAgent Legit have seen their price come in slightly to 11/2, from 6/1 last week, while Alesha's Golden Buzzer Ravi's Dream Team are out to 9/1.
