Britain's ugliest building: Behold the six 'contenders' for unwanted architecture award

The shortlist has been announced for the six contenders in the annual Carbuncle Cup, the unofficial accolade for Britain’s least attractive building.

Building Design, a popular website among architects, created the ‘award’ as a fun way of drawing attention to the bad architecture marring the UK’s horizons.

‘Winners’ of the past have included the Nova Victoria Office Bloc, the Walkie Talkie, and a large apartment block incorporating a Tesco, all in London.

Here are the candidates for 2018 before the winner (or loser) is named on 5th September.
