Like the brand's Wi-Fi-connected iKettle, which was launched in 2014, the coffee machine can be controlled by free iOS and Android apps and has been designed to wake up users with a cup of freshly ground coffee, as the intelligent appliance will take care of the hard work while they're still snoozing in bed.

The machine will also let users know when it needs refilling and will even ask you if they want a cup of coffee when they arrive back at their house, thanks to the 'welcome home' mode.

The sensibly named Wi-Fi Coffee Machine by Smarter will make its debut at CES Unveiled on Sunday 4 January - one of the first events at the annual CES tech show in Las Vegas.
