A British woman has reportedly being gang-raped by up to eight men while on the Greek island of Rhodes.

The 31-year-old told authorities she had been clubbing with her friends on Sunday in the resort of Faliraki, The Times reports.

She claims they met a group of Belgian men, aged between 30 and 35, who joined them and invited them back to their hotel room.

Once there, the woman said she had consensual sex with one of the group on the balcony and the room.

Her friends are understood to have left the hotel, and it is claimed she was later attacked and raped by a group of four men.

It is understood she fled the men's hotel and reported the attack to police at 7am the following morning.

Local media has reported four Belgian men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

DNA samples have been taken from the men as the alleged assault is investigated.

All the accused have reportedly denied the allegations.
