Brits host Jack Whitehall blasted for “inappropriate” Little Mix joke
Jack Whitehall has been slammed for making a "disrespectful" comment towards Little Mix at the Brit Awards 2019.
The comedian, who was hosting tonight's (February 20) ceremony, can always be counted on to make an awkward joke or two, but one aimed at the girlband may have gone over the line.
After the girls performed their hit 'Woman Like Me', Jack said: "Dads up and down the country awkwardly fumbling for a scatter cushion right now," and this did not go down well with viewers.
One viewer tweeted: "Jack Whitehall’s comments after Little Mix’s performance, reducing them to sex symbols that exist to satisfy men. Gross. It’s 2019. He is cancelled."
Another wrote: "Just goes to show the society we live in and why we need feminism: You have The 1975 trying to address misogyny in the music industry and then Jack Whitehall joking about dads hiding their hard-on after Little Mix perform..."
A third fan complained: "I can't believe Jack Whitehall made that disgusting comment about dads fumbling after Little Mix's performance!! So disrespectful."

Wow Jack Whitehall’s hosting of the Brits is dull, unfunny and painful to watch. And his joke about dads, scatter cushions and Little Mix? 😬 Cringeworthy. Had to switch off.

Anyone else think some of Jack Whitehall’s jokes have been inappropriate??? First he jokes about “dads fumbling for scatter cushions” after Little Mix’s performance and then he embarrasses Shawn by talking about his “package” #BRITs

Thank god that's over! That was torture to watch, and Jake Whitehall was not funny, at all. His comments towards Little Mix and Shaun Mendes were quite honestly disgusting. I don't find 'jokes' sexualising people funny. #BRITs #BRITS2019

Later, the host sat down with Little Mix for a chat and made it even more awkward by bringing up ex-boyfriends, Simon Cowell and their feud with Piers Morgan.
The host even acknowledged himself that things had taken a bit of an awkward turn, which wasn't lost on viewers.
Little Mix are clearly finding Jack Whitehall as annoying as the rest of the viewing public.#brits#brits2019#LittleMix #jackwhitehall pic.twitter.com/6RHtvb9cFV

Little Mix missed out on winning 'Best British Group', which went to The 1975, but they did nab the statue for 'Music Video of the Year' for 'Woman Like Me'.
