Brooke Vincent has jokingly been called out by her former Coronation Street co-star after she shared how she was there to support her as she made her stage debut. It's been an exciting time for the actress as not only has she returned to screens in a new reality show, she's also touring the country in her first-ever play.

It was revealed back in November that the 31-year-old will be starring in the late Kay Mellor’s final stage play, The Syndicate, that will be touring across the UK, including a stop at The Lowry.

Based on the BBC One show of the same name, the play will tell the story of five supermarket workers whose lottery syndicate numbers come in just as their jobs and livelihoods are under threat. It is being directed by Kay’s daughter and former Emmerdale actress Gaynor Faye in her late mum's name.

Brooke, who shot to fame playing Sophie Webster from 2004 to 2019 in ITV's Corrie, will play Amy, the sister-in-law of supermarket assistant Jamie, who will be played by Gaynor's son Oliver Anthony in his theatrical debut after singer Max George was forced to withdraw from the role.

And she's officially begun her big new gig with The Syndicate kicking off its UK tour at Richmond Theatre last week. Over the weekend, Brooke shared a string of images from her stay down south before she headed back up to Manchester to spent time with her two children - Mexx and Monroe - who she shares with her footballer fiancé Kean Bryan.

In one snap, Brooke could be seen posing outside the theatre against a notice board which featured a poster for her play as well as a poster for another very familiar face. "Right next to Peppa Pig! Maybe the boys will start taking me serious now," the former soap star captioned the post.

She added: "Richmond! What an amazing week!! 1 more show & off home to my babies @syndicatetheplay." The post also featured an image of Brooke with Sally Ann Matthews, known for playing Jenny Connor in Corrie, as she was there to support her former co-star on her opening night.

But the actress jested that she wasn't impressed with Brooke's choice of photo of the pair. Commenting on the post she wrote: "Jeez, out of the 3 million pics you took you chose THAT ONE??!!" But Brooke responded: "I thought we looked happy," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.

Sally Ann, however, replied: "Or demented…. x," before Brooke concluded: "At least we don’t look like a couple hahaha." It comes after Sally Ann said she'd be there to support Brooke in the audience after doing the same for another fellow former Corrie star and Brooke's real-life cousin.

Sally Ann wrote on her Instagram Story last week: "So I went to see my squidgy @ellielouiseleach at Richmond Theatre in @cluedostageplay about a month ago. Sat next to a gorgeous young girl, got chatting. She said, 'No idea what this show is about only booked it this afternoon but I want to keep theatre alive'.

"I'll be back for our @brookelevivincent's opening night on Thursday and I hope I have an equally fabulous theatre seat neighbour. Sitting and sharing with a stranger is something else." Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing winner Ellie, who shot to fame as Faye Windass in Corrie, said: "So proud. Can't wait to see you smash it!"
