Bruno Fernandes was a big miss on Monday evening as Manchester United suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss at Crystal Palace.

The Portuguese midfielder has been in fine form of recent weeks and his creative output was nowhere to be seen at Selhurst Park as his team-mates struggled in every department against Palace.

Often one to come out fighting after a painful defeat, Fernandes could not do so on this occasion after missing out on the matchday squad due to injury - the first time that has happened during his time at the club.

One can only imagine how the 29-year-old reacted to last night's performance from his team-mates, which saw the Red Devils' season reach a new low after being brushed aside with ease by the Eagles.

Fernandes has not said anything about the game on his social media channels, but instead shared an image on his Instagram story around the time of kick-off of his two children with two other kids. A second image showed Fernandes' son and daughter wishing Happy Birthday to what appears to be a friend or family member.

It remains to be seen what happens regarding the future of the United captain this summer, having recently suggested he will consider his options. Speaking to DAZN Portugal, he said: "I don't have thoughts for other things at the moment. It doesn't just depend on me.

"So, if you want me to be very honest, if I have to think about not continuing in the Premier League, it won't be until after the Euros. We can end the season by winning the FA Cup, then we have the European Championship, which is very important for us.

"Nothing will take my focus away from this end of the championship, the FA Cup and the European Championship. There is nothing more important than that at the moment."
