Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood lead tributes to late Strictly dancer Robin Windsor

Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood have paid tribute to Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor following his death.

The dancer, who appeared on the show between 2010 and 2013, has died at the age of 44, it was announced on Tuesday morning.

Reacting to the news, former Strictly judge Bruno wrote on Instagram, "Incredibly sad shocking news @robinwindsor it was a pleasure working with Robin for many years @bbcstrictly so professional easy going a really good person much to (young) to go RIP my dear friend Keep Dancing in heaven."

Craig, the last remaining original judge, described Robin as "one of the kindest, gentle, honest, funny and caring people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with".

He added on X/Twitter, "He will be forever missed. My heart goes out to all his family & friends. RIP darling man, you were truly loved."

During his time on the show, Robin was paired with celebrities including Deborah Meaden, Lisa Riley, Anita Dobson and Patsy Kensit. He also danced with Susanna Reid for a Children in Need special and Alison Hammond for a Christmas special.

Susanna became emotional as she announced Robin's death on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday.

"He was a remarkable dancer, incredibly strong, so creative, he was just so enthusiastic about dancing," she said. "I just adored him, he was the most incredible personality, there was something very special about him."

Former Emmerdale star Lisa shared a series of throwback photos of her and Robin on Instagram and added, "My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel…….now our forever Angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart……my very broken heart, I love you, shine your beautiful, electric energy from heaven. SHINE IN PEACE."

Fellow Strictly pro Karen Hauer said she was "heartbroken" while former dancer James Jordan wrote, "You will be missed old friend."

Robin's cause of death has not been disclosed.
