Chef Bryn Williams has announced he has sold his London restaurant Odette's - with plans to spend more time in Wales. Denbigh-raised Bryn is widely regarded as one of Wales' best chefs.

He took over Odette's Restaurant in Primrose Hill, London, 16 years ago and the site has established itself as one of the leading eating places in London. Bryn later opened at Porth Eirias in Colwyn Bay, and more recently became part of The Cambrian in the Swiss Alps, and The Touring Club in Penarth.

Last month he announced he would launch a new venue at Theatr Clwyd in Mold. Now he has revealed Odette's will close today after he sold the site.

He said: “Sixteen years ago I bought Odette’s restaurant in Primrose Hill, it’s been my cooking home and I’ve loved every minute of it. Now, it’s time to move on and explore new adventures so I have sold Odette’s and our last day of trading will be this Saturday 25th May.

"I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has worked at Odette’s over the years and to all of our wonderful guests, many of whom were loyal for the last 16 years. I’m now excited to spend more time in my native Wales, and in particular North Wales, continuing to work on our bistro in Porth Eirias, as well as take on other opportunities further afield. Sorry for the very short notice. Diolch Bryn."
