BT Wi-Fi: The new name for BT Openzone and BT Fon

BT Openzone is dead, long live BT Wi-Fi. That's the new message coming from BT after a move to rebrand the service to make it easier to understand.

"BT Wi-fi brings together BT Openzone, our great-value wireless broadband internet access, and BT Fon, the world's largest wi-fi community," says the company.

The company says that the move will also make it easier to for customers to get online at over 4 million hotspots when they are out and about. With such a big network however, the company warns that it will take some time for the new name to take affect.

"Please bear with us as we gradually update our product names and the network name at our hotspots to BT Wi-fi from BT Openzone or BT Fon. In the meantime, you can get online using any of these network names," BT adds.

BT Wi-Fi is free when you buy any BT broadband package. Non BT customers can still use the service, but will have to pay for access.
