Buenos Aires Metro Passengers Evacuate Along Tracks as Train Stalls

Metro passengers in Buenos Aires had to evacuate through a tunnel on April 29 after their train stalled due to a technical issue, leaving them stranded underground for over an hour.

Footage filmed by Mariana Betta shows passengers in a stalled metro car, and later walking along the tracks to get to a station.

“What a mess,” she wrote on X, saying they were stuck for over an hour in a stuffy carriage.

According to local news reports, Emova, the operating company of the Buenos Aires subway, interrupted the service so the passengers could evacuate.

Emova said at 6:21 pm that Line B was interrupted, and that it was back to normal by 7:52 pm. Credit: Mariana Baretta via Storyful
