MOTORISTS will face travel disruption over the weekend as part of a busy road shuts for a day.

Highway maintenance work is expected to be carried out in Wallisdown Road between Wallisdown Roundabout and University Roundabout on Saturday, July 6.

BCP Council has said the road closure is expected to be in place from 7.30am until 5.30pm.

Meanwhile, a signed diversion route will be in place via Kinson Road, Columbia Road, Boundary Road and back onto Wallisdown Road.

The authority said: “These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations; restrictions may be in effect under this notice for up to five days, and extended by a further notice or order.

“The council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by this temporary prohibition.”
