Celebrity Big Brother is back for another run and there are already potential power struggles brewing.

Legendary actress Kirstie Alley was the first celebrity to enter the new-look house on Thursday night (August 16) and was immediately called into the Diary Room.

Once she'd tracked it down (they should hand a floorplan out when the contestants arrive, right?), she was informed by Big Brother that she is the new President of the house.

She was tasked with finding out as much as possible about the other housemates without letting on about her special role.

And once they'd all entered, it was confirmed that Kirstie had passed the test and would serve as President.

It was revealed that she would get some "special powers", before the housemates were all marched out to the garden to walk the White House lawn.

A red curtain which had been concealing a special something in the garden was then dropped, revealing a mini White House which Kirstie and her Vice-President would sleep in.

It was then down to viewers to elect a Vice-President for the house, with former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas given the honour.

A delighted Ryan joined Kirstie at her presidential podium, as Big Brother informed the pair that they will soon have a lot of important decisions to make.

They both seemed pretty bemused about what they're supposed to do next, but we have every faith that Big Brother will have them squirming very soon.

Kirstie and Ryan will be presiding over their fellow housemates – psychic Sally Morgan, former TOWIE star Dan Osborne, ex-footballer Jermaine Pennant, 'human Ken doll' Rodrigo Alves, former Love Island star Gabby Allen, Married At First Sight contestant Ben Jardine, actress Roxanne Pallett, US reality star Natalie Nunn, comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli and former banker Nick Leeson.

Celebrity Big Brother continues on Friday (August 17) at 9pm on Channel 5.
