In 2019, Hedi Slimane reintroduced fragrance into the Celine universe, releasing the French fashion house's first scent (or "Haute Parfumerie," as it refers to the collection) in over 50 years. Five years later, he's expanding its footprint in beauty, announcing a color cosmetics line titled Celine Beauté.

The maison unveiled its Winter 2024 offering, titled "La Collection de l'Arc de Triomphe" on Tuesday via a film directed by Slimane. In it, the designer also teases Celine's inaugural makeup offering: All the models are wearing "La Peau Nue" Rose Naturel Lipstick, one of fifteen shades in the "Le Rouge Celine" lip category, which will be available to purchase in January 2025. (Aaron De Mey did the makeup.) A satin "Rouge Triomphe" lipstick, described as "very classic and essential satin-finish Parisian... dressed in a faceted gold sheath and embossed with the maison's couture monogram," will launch this fall.

"The creation of Celine Beauté comes to enrich the cultural roots, promoting a French idea of femininity and allure, distilled over the last five years by Hedi Slimane in his new institutional codes for the Maison Celine," the press release reads.

With every season, Celine will grow the offering, which is expected to include lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners, eye pencils, nail polish and blush.

Celine is the latest luxury fashion brand to enter the designer beauty category: Miu Miu recently signed a licensing agreement with the L'Oréal Groupe, following sister brand Prada, which announced its skin-care and makeup launch last year; Valentino debuted its color cosmetics line in 2021.
