Channel 4's new programme 'The Steph Show' is praised by fans for its feel good positivity
The Steph Show has been lauded by fans for its positivity and feel good format, which appears to be the perfect tonic as we stay indoors due to coronavirus restrictions.
BBC Breakfast host Steph McGovern has been streaming her new Channel 4 show from her home in Yorkshire and has been keeping it casual in jumpers, jeans, and a pair of slippers.
The programme - which began on Monday 30 March - features positive stories about all the amazing things that everyday people are doing in these challenging times, along with some news and light entertainment.
Tomorrow Alan Titchmarsh and @tomallencomedy join us on the show. 🎉
We want you to send us your photos of any troublesome houseplants/gardens you may have and Alan will be giving his tiptop advice on maintaining them! #TheStephShow pic.twitter.com/ESxUwOpZhJ— TheStephShowC4 (@TheStephShowC4) March 31, 2020
Today reigning Strictly champ and broadcaster Stacey Dooley joined via video link to reveal she's currently making a coronavirus documentary from home.
"Do you know what I'm OK actually, I feel like I've been sort of self-isolating for the past five years, I'm so anti-social," Stacey joked. "I'm making a documentary at the minute from my kitchen about coronavirus, I'm working from home like you are."
Former Strictly dancer Kevin Clifton briefly gatecrashed girlfriend Stacey's chat, which was also welcomed by fans.
This is a live representation of when your mum makes you get in the group photo and you’re totally not prepared 🤣🤚🏼😫 @keviclifton @StaceyDooley pic.twitter.com/TJF9zyRIOL

Viewers tweeted their delight at the show and Steph's presenting skills, with some pointing out that plush sofas, TV studios and big budgets aren't always required to make enjoyable TV.
One said: "Very few could carry off a brand new show live from their own home with nobody else in the room. Steph McGovern though is definitely one who can, good stuff."

Proof you don't need a big sofa, or fancy studio, to make TV ..— Paul Bennett (@paulbennett2018) March 30, 2020

Another added: "Steph should have been given her own show ages ago. Warm, genuine, funny and just the right mix for an isolated population."
The One Show presenter Alex Jones congratulated Steph with a lovely message on twitter which read: "So proud of you @stephbreakfast. You launched a show in your house, in the most weird of times and you smashed it!!!!! It was never a question in my mind. You’re awesome and this has been a long time coming! #TheStephShow Love you."
Lots of fans were also complimenting her home decor as well as her hosting style.

Steph's really good at this. I can't imagine it's easy because it's such an unusual way to make a TV show. I also like her integrated kitchen island banquette. #TheStephShow
