Channing Tatum had ONE condition before 21 Jump Street

From Digital Spy

Channing Tatum has revealed the one condition he had before agreeing to film 21 Jump Street.

The actor starred alongside Jonah Hill in the 2012 comedy reboot, which followed two street cops who go undercover to infiltrate a dangerous high school drug ring.

However, before signing on to star in the critically and commercially-praised movie and its eventual sequel, Channing had one condition.

Speaking at the WSJ. Magazine's Innovator Awards, Channing said he would only agree to do the movie if his co-star and lauded funnyman Jonah Hill 'made him funny'.

"I did only have one condition on doing [21 Jump Street]," he said (via PageSix).

"I had never done a comedy before, and naturally was terrified … and I guess people laughed at my movies but probably not intentionally.

"So I made Jonah promise me that he was going to make me funny, and he promised. So I consider myself one of the first people that he's directed as Jonah Hill the director."

Hill will make his directional debut with the release of Mid 90s later this year.

Meanwhile, after separating from his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum earlier this year, Channing has recently spoke about his willingness to get back to work, after a quiet year.

He told Variety: "I'm sort of ready to go back to work. I don't know what I'm ready to go do yet, as far as, is it acting, is it directing, is it producing, writing… Maybe I'll come and start interviewing people, I don't know.

"I have no clue what I'm going to do, but I'm having fun though."
