Fans of The Chase were left frustrated by the ITV programme this week, labelling a celebrity repeat a 'con' through 'dumbed down' questions.

Bradley Walsh was on hand to welcome Dermot O'Leary, Lynsey Hipgrave, Kyle Walker and Alex Brooker in a show for Soccer Aid.

But the ITV loyal fans were unhappy to see another repeat, while also complaining that the questions were easier on the celeb show. Some also claimed that chaser Anne Hegerty was letting answers slip through her fingers.

Taking to X, one person vented: "Why is this a repeat? The money has already been won and paid so this is a con @itv," while another said: "Dumbed down questions I’m off to Pointless."

The Star reports that a third chimed in: "Went to the Kitchen for some tea...surprised when I came back to see three through.....the questions must have been so easeeeey...." while a fourth went on: "It's odd how the Chasers get more questions wrong on charity episodes."

Another complained: "Convenient wrong answer from the chaser."

After the first three made it through to the final, the pressure was on for Dermot to join his team. And despite having a shaky start in his cash-builder, Dermot still took the higher offer - making it through with a total of £169,000 to play for.

The group would manage to answer 21 questions correctly, before Anne struggled to catch them - far from on form. And as the four achieved victory, fans started to speculate online once again. One said: "Tonight’s episode of #thechase is a prime example of why the charity editions are totally fixed. We wouldn’t want £169,000 NOT going to the #socceraid charity would we?"

Meanwhile, another added: "Won't be watching the chase again, lost all credibility, soccer aid @ITV charity pure coincidence there's been over £250,000 'won' this week. Absolute sham."
