Child, 5, rushed to hospital after horror crash with police car in Glasgow

A five-year-old child has been rushed to hospital after a horror smash involving a police car shortly after lunchtime today.

Emergency services raced to Paisley Road West in the south side of Glasgow after the two-vehicle collision on at around 12.30pm on Thursday, June 27.

The youngster was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital alongside a 45-year-old man. Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the incident.

Cops are now carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 12.30pm on Thursday, June 27, 2024, officers attended the Paisley Road West area of Glasgow following a two-car crash involving a police vehicle."

They added: “A 45-year-old man and a 5-year-old child were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a precaution. Enquiries are ongoing.”
