THE owner of a Chinese takeaway has been brutally attacked by a gang of teenage, anti-social thugs.

The shocking assault occurred outside Emerald Chinese Takeaway on Loushers Lane on Friday, June 28, at 4.30pm.

The owner, Mr Wu was eating inside with his family when he heard a loud noise of banging against his shop window.

He went outside to investigate and found a group of four youths, believed to be between 15 and 18 years of age.

When he asked them to stop, he was attacked and kicked in the head and face. The youths then ran away.

Cheshire Police was called, but Mr Wu’s family said they were ‘disappointed’ as the force had not kept them informed and had taken no action other than to give them a crime number.

The victim’s family said: “This was an unprovoked attack thought to be racially motivated due to things that were said at the time.

“In the four days since the attack, the police have not been back to take statements from his wife, who witnessed the attack, even though they said they would return to do so.

“We have owned the popular takeaway for more than 10 years and have a not previously had any issues.

“We want those responsible prosecuted and fear for future safety of ourselves, as well and other foreign owners in the Stockton Heath area.

“This was an unprovoked attack and people need to see they cannot get away with this.”
