Birmingham City midfielder Paik Seung-ho is the subject of interest from Championship side Blackburn Rovers, and former boss John Eustace. Paik only arrived in January under Tony Mowbray but he made a very positive early impression in the middle of the park - particularly just as Mowbray was beginning to get a tune out of the squad, prior to his diagnosis.

Paik scored on the final day of the season, netting the only goal in the 1-0 win over Norwich City which regrettably wasn't enough to keep Blues in the Championship and now his future, along with that of Krystian Bielik and Jordan James, is likely to come under the spotlight as clubs from elsewhere consider moves. One of those sides, according to the Sun, is Blackburn.

Rovers, under Eustace, were one of the sides who were in the relegation mix on the final day, as well as Blues, Plymouth Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday, but they beat champions Leicester City to secure safety at Blues' expense. The message from new boss Chris Davies, to any Blues player who might be considering his options following relegation, is quite a simple one.

“I have had a couple of conversations but more will happen in the next few weeks when the players come back in," he told BirminghamLive this week, when quizzed about the futures of Paik and Bielik, among others. “My message to the players around that is that I’m a symbol of exactly that. I’m someone who could well be a manager in the Championship now, possibly even higher who knows, but I have chosen to come to a club that’s going somewhere.

“It’s for me to make the vision, the project and where we’re going with this crystal clear to them so they can see that yes, we’re in League One, but we’re going somewhere and you want to be part of that. That is exactly the message I’m going to be getting across to those players who are maybe considering where they are at now in relation to where they want to be.”
