POLICE have arrested a suspect as part of an ongoing sexual assault probe.

The force's Sexual Abuse Investigation Team was looking to speak to a man in connection with an investigation into an incident in Colchester on Saturday, March 16.

Essex Police has now provided an update.

A spokesman said: "We are no longer looking to identify a man we wanted to speak to in connection with a reported sexual assault in Colchester.

"A 25-year-old man, from Colchester, was arrested on Monday, April 22, and has been released on bail with conditions while enquiries continue."
