Comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont announce divorce after eight years of marriage

Comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont have called time on their marriage after nine years.

The pair, who starred together in Meet The Richardsons, channel Dave's 'at home mockumentary' in which they play 'exaggerated versions of themselves', have announced in a joint statement that they are getting divorced.

Meet The Richardsons first aired in 2020 and recently launched its fifth series on April 8 on Dave's UKTV.

In a statement released to the PA news agency, the couple said: "After nine years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways."

Highlighting their commitment to their family, the statement added: "As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being." The statement concluded with: "We will be making no further comment."

Lucy, an actress and stand-up comedian, was in the spotlight for a Bafta TV award nomination in 2023 for her performance in Meet The Richardsons. Her career includes appearances on popular comedy panel shows such as Would I Lie To You?, The Last Leg, and Have I Got News For You.

Jon is equally recognised for his panel show presence and served as a team captain on the long-running 8 Out Of 10 Cats. In 2018, he introduced the panel show Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier, which aired on Dave for two series. He has also co-hosted with Russell Howard on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Jon and Lucy, who welcomed their daughter in 2016, also shared screen time together on Celebrity Gogglebox.
