Police Stand Between Pro-Palestine and Pro-Israel Protesters at Montreal's McGill University

Pro-Palestine protesters and pro-Israel protesters organized across from each other at McGill University in Montreal on Thursday, May 2, footage shows.

Footage posted to X by Joshua Gariepy shows the two groups chanting on opposite sides of Sherbrooke Street in Montreal, Quebec, on Thursday. Police officers can be seen standing between the groups.

According to a local news outlet, the pro-Israel counterprotest against the pro-Palestine group began around noon. The pro-Palestine group is currently on the sixth day of their encampment, calling for McGill University to divest from companies that have business ties with Israel.
