Coronation Street spoilers: Daniel gets news of Bethany, Daisy has cancer worries

There are several wake-up calls for Daniel on Coronation Street next week, plus Daisy needs to see the doctor, while Summer is offered the opportunity to be a surrogate.

Surrogacy dilemma for Summer

Mike and Esther insist on taking Summer to the hospital for her scan, but eventually agree to wait outside. However, after Summer and Aaron venture inside, Mike suddenly appears by their side and insists upon attending the scan too.

After her pregnancy lie is finally exposed, Summer will be left desperately trying to raise the £10,000 needed to pay Mike back. So, she makes out to Billy, Todd and Paul that her intention is to go travelling for a year with Aaron and ten grand is needed to fund the trip.

But then Mike and Esther reveal to Summer that they’re willing to forget about the money she owes – but on the condition that she be a surrogate for their baby. It’s a plan that Billy wants to put a stop to at any cost, even to the extent of reporting them to the police.

Decision time for Ken

Martha is planning to start rehearsals on a new play in Hull but suggests to Ken on Monday that he move away with her. It’s a proposal that leaves him wondering whether to follow his head or heart.

By Wednesday, though, the situation has grown more complicated. A non-plussed Wendy has learned that Ken recently made a night of things with Martha and so dumps him. But Martha is under the impression that she successfully stole Ken away from Wendy. When the two women come face to face, Wendy reveals that she initiated the break-up – so will this bombshell result in Martha rethinking her future with Ken?

Cancer worry for Daisy

Daisy discovers a lump in her breast and, on Jenny’s advice, tells a shaken Daniel, who insists on accompanying her to the doctors’.

But rather than offering support, an anxious Daniel ends up knocking back drinks in the Rovers. He’s already been left thrown after spying a magazine article written by Bethany Platt. And now there’s the possibility of him losing another partner so soon after the tragic loss of Sinead.

As Daniel announces drunkenly that Daisy may have cancer, Peter gets him to see alcohol isn’t the answer and that his girlfriend needs him. So, just as Daisy is about to attend her appointment alone, she’s interrupted by Daniel, who opens the door and staggers in drunk. But what reception will he get?

Simon and Jacob foil a crime

Simon gets himself a new job on the Underworld sales team at the factory, but Leanne is unimpressed to find that he’ll be working with Jacob.

However, the two lads are set to join forces when, on Simon’s first day, they spot someone stealing the factory van and race over to apprehend the thief. As they celebrate foiling the crime, Leanne is disappointed to see them acting so matey.

Later on, Jacob is then hailed by a guy called Damon, who he seems to know. Damon explains that he was just passing through and wanted to say hello, but Jacob gives him short shrift and sends him on his way. Just who is this newcomer?

Wedding dress woes

Tyrone and Gemma have secretly chosen a wedding dress for Fiz to wear on Christmas Day, but Abi tells them it’s hideous. Enter Beth with her suggestion that she make some last-minute alterations in the hope that Fiz will like it.

The trouble is, Fiz will then catch Gemma modelling the gown while Beth pins it and demands to know what’s going on.
