Coronation Street's Mary Taylor will have to find a new home after being kicked out by the Alahans.

Mary (Patti Clare) discovers that she's no longer welcome at Number 7 next week, as Asha's new storyline continues.

New spoilers for next week's episodes have revealed that Asha will cause a stir at home by insisting that she doesn't want to share a bedroom with her twin brother Aadi (Zennon Ditchett) anymore.

The 13-year-old is eager for more independence as she's growing up, so tells her dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) that she needs her own space.

Later, Dev breaks the bad news to Mary that she'll have to move out, as the kids now want their own rooms.

Mary tries her best to appear understanding, but she's deeply upset to be kicked out.

Corrie fans know that Mary has spent the past few years at Number 7, working as a live-in nanny for Asha and Aadi. She previously had her own motorhome, which was taken away by the council.

Viewers have recently seen Dev confiding in Mary about his fears that Asha is growing up too quickly, leaving him worried that she no longer needs him.

What Dev hasn't yet realised is that Asha has started using illegal skin whitening creams following her recent trip to India.

Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha, recently explained: "While she's been in India she's become fixated with lightening her skin. It's very normalised over there so when she comes back she thinks, 'Why shouldn't I be doing this here too?'

"In India she's seen all the Bollywood actresses she looks up to sponsoring these skin lightening creams, she wants to be successful and pretty like them so she thinks, 'What's wrong with it?'"

On Asha's relationships at home, Tanisha added: "She's very hostile with both Dev and Mary, insisting they let her do her own thing. Asha lost her mum a long time ago and Dev tries to take on both roles, and Mary does her best to step in, but for Asha they're too far removed from what she feels she's going through and she just wants her own freedom now she's getting a bit older.

"Asha is close to Mary but there's too much of an age gap there, she feels like more of a grandmother figure and she can't open up to her about how she's feeling."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, August 30 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
