Coronavirus: All the new release dates for films delayed due to COVID-19

Many major film releases have been pushed back until 2021 and beyond due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Here are the big movies that have been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic - and their new US release dates.

Mulan

Disney's big-budget live action remake of Mulan was one of the early film casualties of the global health crisis. Originally due for release on 27 March 2020, it is now set for 24 July 2020.

A Quiet Place II

Starring husband and wife John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, the 2018 horror film was a surprise box office hit. The sequel has been pushed back from 20 March 2020 to 4 September 2020.

Black Widow

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz, the Marvel film will hit cinemas on 6 November 2020, rather than May.

James Bond: No Time To Die

Daniel Craig's much publicised final outing as 007 was delayed from 2 April 2020 to 12 November 2020 in the UK.

Top Gun: Maverick

Fans who have waited 34 years for Tom Cruise to return to the skies as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell now have to wait a little longer, with the release postponed from 24 June 2020 to 23 December 2020.

Peter Rabbit 2

The sequel to 2018's Peter Rabbit has been delayed twice. Originally scheduled for release in March 2020, it was initially postponed until August as the scale of the coronavirus crisis became clear. It has since has been moved again and will now be released on 15 January 2021.

Eternals

Another Marvel film, Eternals is due to be the first big screen appearance for a group of immortal superheroes that made their comic book debut in 1976. Originally set for release in November 2020, it will now hit cinemas on 12 February 2021.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

This sequel stars Paul Rudd and Bokeem Woodbine and includes appearances from the originals Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. It will now arrive in US cinemas on 5 March 2021, after originally being scheduled for July 2020.

Morbius

A Spider-Man spin-off starring Jared Leto as the titular vampire, it has been pushed back from July 2020 to 19 March 2021.

Fast and Furious 9

The ninth film in the franchise, starring Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Dame Helen Mirren and John Cena, has been moved from May 2020 to 2 April 2021.

Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings

Another film from Marvel, this is its first Asian-American superhero film, with little known actor Simu Liu cast in the lead role, starring alongside Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina and Tony Leung. It has been delayed from February 2021 to 7 May 2021.

Jungle Cruise

Based on the Disney theme park attraction of the same name, Jungle Cruise is a family adventure film starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt. It has been postponed from July 2020 to July 2021.

Uncharted

A video game adaption starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, its release has been from March 2021 to October 2021.

Fatherhood

A drama starring Kevin Hart, the release date has been moved from January 2021 to October 2021.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

The sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, has been moved from May 2021 to 5 November 2021 by Marvel.

Thor: Love And Thunder

The fourth instalment in the series about the god of thunder will see Natalie Portman playing a female Thor. Its release has been postponed from November 2021 to 18 February 2022.

Indiana Jones 5

Harrison Ford is once again due to reprise one of his most famous roles, but not for a bit longer. Originally set to launch in the summer of 2021, it has now been pushed back to July 2022.

Greyhound

A Second World War drama starring Tom Hanks and Stephen Graham, the original June 2020 date has been cancelled, with a new date yet to be confirmed.
