Yahoo News Corrie assault horror for Eileen this Christmas
Coronation Street's Eileen Grimshaw is bearing the scars of a brutal assault in these shock new spoiler pictures for the festive season.
The latest pap shots show Eileen (Sue Cleaver) sporting a nasty bruise and cut above her right eye as she attends a Christmas carol service with her son Todd.
While it's not know how Eileen came to get her injury, our money is on her dangerous husband Pat Phelan, who is currently holding Andy Carver hostage in a dingy cellar.
It's already been suggested that the pressure of Phelan's secrets could push him over the edge in upcoming scenes – with a recent Corrie trailer showing him loading a gun.
Let's also not forget those haunting pictures of poor Anna Windass last week, as she tried to run for her life in a dark story twist ahead.
But is Phelan to blame for Eileen's awful injury? Or could someone else have harmed Eileen?
Given that the scenes are being filmed at the moment, viewers can expect them to air sometime in the middle of December – meaning it's shaping up to be a very dramatic Christmas in Weatherfield.
