Yahoo News Corrie: Will Michelle and Steve ever reunite?
Coronation Street has left fans to wonder whether there's still chemistry between Michelle Connor and Steve McDonald after an explosive pair of episodes.
The couple split up in February after Steve (Simon Gregson) finally came clean about how he'd secretly fathered a child with Leanne Battersby.
Michelle hasn't had a nice word to say to Steve or Leanne ever since, but in a surprising twist, she relied strongly on their support in the fightback against Will Chatterton on Monday night (September 25).
The ITV soap's latest double bill saw Steve and Leanne (Jane Danson) team up to gather evidence against Will, wanting to prove that he's the sinister culprit who's been stalking Michelle.
Steve and Leanne sneakily broke into Will's house and started taking photos of various clues, but their efforts began to backfire when he returned home earlier than expected with Michelle, who'd been desperately trying to keep him distracted.
While Steve managed to escape, Leanne found herself trapped inside and was soon caught out by Will, who figured out that she was lurking upstairs. A terrifying struggle then led to her falling down the stairs and being knocked unconscious.
With the truth about their plan exposed, a horrified Michelle was next to find herself in the firing line as Will managed to corner her. Fortunately, just when things were looking bleak, Steve was on hand to save the day by rushing back inside and punching Will out cold. Who knew he had it in him?
After Leanne was loaded into an ambulance, a traumatised Michelle headed off to make a statement at the police station, where Will was finally charged for his reign of terror.
Michelle thanked Steve for coming to her rescue and he gave her a lift back home, finally on better terms than they've been for months.
With hostilities now over, was this a sign that Michelle and Steve could reunite one day, or will Corrie be keeping Michelle with Robert Preston? Only time will tell...
