Yahoo News Corrie plans an overdose horror for Daniel Osbourne
Coronation Street's Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) will reportedly be left fighting for his life after a drug overdose.
The troubled Barlow sibling hasn't had a good few months, after Sinead Tinker aborted his baby and lied about having lost it, rejecting his university place and then becoming a suspect in his father Ken Barlow's attempted murder.
Now The Sun is reporting Daniel's struggles will see him turn to recreational drugs to cope, which will leave him fighting for his life after he overdoses in the dark upcoming scenes.
When asked for comment by Digital Spy, a Coronation Street spokesperson replied that they don't comment on storylines.
The recent reports come as the investigation into Ken Barlow's attacker continues to unfold.
Ken was pushed down the stairs by an unknown assailant on the ITV soap last month, sparking a Weatherfield-wide whodunnit focusing on 11 prime suspects.
Last week, Adam Barlow was arrested for pushing his dad down the stairs following a tip-off to police from his niece Amy, although Tracy suspects her daughter may not be telling the truth in Monday's episode (April 24).
Daniel's overdose could also be linked to the surprise return of his mother Denise as actress Denise Black recently confirmed she's returning to the cobbles.
The 59-year-old actress was seen on set in Manchester earlier this month with a script in her hand.
Her return follows a a stint on ITV's rival soap Emmerdale, where she played the adulterous Joanie Wright before she was killed off.
