Returning Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has revealed that she turned down the chance to hit the slopes in The Jump.

Back in October, it was announced that Helen would be reprising her role as Rosie Webster on the cobbles after five years away, and while she never considered another soap, she was approached for Channel 4's reality show.

"I was offered The Jump, which I think is hilarious," she told Digital Spy and other press. "I would be the worst person on that, I'd be hysterical and would probably die! My mum thought it was hilarious that I'd be offered that."

Rosie makes a dramatic return to Weatherfield next week and will soon be dragging her good-natured sister Sophie down with her.

Soon after her arrival, the police come knocking at the door with a warrant to search the house, explaining that they have reason to believe there are illegal drugs in the house, and Rosie has some 'treats' for her boyfriend's mate in her toilet bag.

Perhaps Helen tackling the slopes might have been less dramatic...

Instead the upcoming series of The Jump will feature some heavyweight sporting stars such as retired cyclist Sir Bradley Wiggins, gymnast Louis Smith and taekwondo athlete Jade Jones.

Oh, and Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews, who's apparently pretty competitive, according to Sir Bradley.

"They are all competitive in their own right. Spencer Matthews is really competitive and has a good chance of winning it, he's a good skier," he explained.

We can find out for ourselves how good Spencer is when The Jump returns to Channel 4 on Sunday (February 5) at 7.30pm.
