Countryfile's Adam Henson has taken to Instagram to share the bittersweet news of losing one of his beloved horses, Victoria, while also celebrating the arrival of a new foal. Posting yesterday afternoon (Saturday, June 15), the BBC presenter announced the "sad passing" of Victoria and introduced his followers to a new addition to the family.

Adam uploaded an image showing a charming young colt grazing next to its mother Lexy, a chestnut Suffolk Punch. The touching post was captioned: "After the sad passing of Victoria last week, I'm delighted to share the news that my #SuffolkPunch mare, Lexy, has given birth to a beautiful #colt."

He continued: "He is doing extremely well and will be staying alongside Lexy with local expert #breeders to allow them to form a strong bond together, before joining us back at @cotswoldfarmpark. #foal #horses #farmlife.", reports the Express.

Another, Sue, exclaimed: "Wow he's a little smasher he's got some lovely strong legs and a beautiful face." A third shared: "So happy to see this, we were at the farm when we saw the horses being moved and I knew something wasn't right, but this news is great to see."

Compliments also poured in for Lexy, with a fan writing: "Well done Lexy, hope you and your gorgeous boy are doing well." Charlotte wrote: " Congratulations, he's gorgeous, but so sad to hear about Victoria. Sending love."

Adam didn't reveal the name of the foal in his post, leaving his followers in suspense about what the young horse will be called.

This update follows Adam's courageous disclosure about how his wife Charlie's diagnosis of pancreatic cancer at 57 years old affected their family. After undergoing a transformative surgery, she cautiously returned to work part-time after two years and now has biannual scans.
