A severe thunderstorm warning was in place for Darwin and surrounding areas in Australia’s Northern Territory on January 12 with the conditions being described by one local as the “crankiest lightning I’ve seen for a while”.
The warning said damaging winds and heavy rainfall could be expected for the area.
