Crash closes A46 causing Coventry Ring road build up

A crash has closed the northbound lanes of the A46 south east of Coventry The crash occurred around 3pm in between the junction of the A428 Rugby Road and the roundabout with the B4082 that links the A46 with Clifford Bridge Road.

Traffic was at a standstill for up to an hour as police worked to clear the crash, with vehicles backed up to the Tollbar End roundabout.

Police managed to clear the obstruction by 4pm. They have not yet released details on how many vehicles or passengers were involved.

Warwickshire Police confirmed that the incident involved four vehicles and only minor injuries were sustained by passengers. By 4.30pm, police were clearing the road and traffic was easing around the ring road.
