The National Hurricane Center confirmed that Barry had strengthened from a tropical storm to a hurricane before making landfall, and said it would bring life-threatening winds and flooding to the Gulf Coast. The center later reported that Barry had weakened back to a tropical storm as it moved northwards. Credit: Louisiana CPRA via Storyful
