Crime Against Fashion: Hipster’s Tight Skinny Jeans Saves His iPhone Being Stolen By Muggers

They say that skinny jeans either look ridiculous or are a potential health hazard but they can also apparently thwart would-be muggers from stealing your possessions.

German Sent still has his iPhone and wallet after being approached by thieves - and he has the tightness of his trousers to thank.

Mr Sent was walking back to his home in Brooklyn, New York, at 5am when three thugs who had been following him decided to strike.

But when they tried to get inside his pockets to help themselves to his possessions, they found that they could barely get their hands in - let alone take anything out.

He explained to the New York Post: “They couldn’t even get a finger in my pocket.

“They were just arguing amongst themselves… like, ‘Get into his front pocket! Get into his left pocket!’ And the other would say, ‘I can’t get it! I can’t!’ ”

The 27-year-old was wearing his favourite 30-inch Kenneth Cole jeans and he credits them for the muggers running away empty-handed.

He added: “I’m glad I put these jeans on today, because they’re really saving all my stuff right now.

“It was kind of hilarious and scary at the same time.”

Doctors claimed earlier this year that skinny jeans can cause health problems, heartburn, urinary tract infections and twisted testicles.
