Crumlin burglaries see items including child's First Communion money stolen

A number of items including a child's First Communion money were stolen during two burglaries in Co Antrim.

Police are investigating the incidents at two properties in the Nutt's Corner area of Crumlin on Monday, July 1. Sometime between 10.15am and 12.15pm, a window in a rear door of a home in Ballyhill Lane was smashed and the house was entered.

A number of rooms were ransacked and cash and jewellery were stolen. Another burglary took place at a house on Carmavy Road sometime between 9.45am and 1.30pm.

Police said it's believed entry to the home was gained through a downstairs window. In this incident, a number of items were taken including the contents of a child's moneybox which contained their First Communion money.

The investigation is ongoing and police have asked anyone with further information to get in touch. A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Detectives are investigating a possible link between the burglaries and would like to hear from witnesses and anyone who may have captured dashcam or any other footage in the area.
