Dakota Fanning brings a touch of Hollywood glamour to London as she attends The Watched screening

Dakota Fanning brought a touch of Hollywood glamour to London on Tuesday night as she walked the red carpet for a special screening of her new film The Watched.

The American actress, 30, looked stylish as she posed on the red carpet of the cinematic event in an Erdem midi dress, which she paired with black pumps.

The Ripley star was joined at the event, held at London’s Ham Yard Hotel, by the show’s director and screenwriter Ishana Night Shyamalan as well as producer M. Night Shyamalan.

Fanning, who plays Mina in the thriller, also posed for photos with her co-stars Oliver Finnegan and 2016 BAFTA winner Georgina Campbell.

Other celebrity guests in attendance included Top Boy’s Hope Ikpoku Jnr, Victoria star Margaret Clunie and Olive Gray.

Based on the novel by A.M. Shine, The Watched, which hits UK and Ireland cinemas on June 7, follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland.

When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

Recently, Fanning revealed that becoming a mother is “more important to me than anything” and is unsure of how much she would like to continue acting when she has children.

The American actress, 30, is known for the Twilight saga film series and period drama Effie Gray, after her success as a child in 2001’s I Am Sam and in Steven Spielberg’s The War of the Worlds.

Speaking to Net-A-Porter’s digital title, Porter magazine in April, shesaid: “Being an actor is a huge part of my identity. I don’t really know who I would be without it. But I also have a desire to set up my life and career so that I always have a choice.

“Having kids is probably more important to me than anything, even being an actor. If somebody said I had to choose, I would choose having kids. I’m one of those people who has always felt that pull.”

She could not say “how much I’ll want to work” after having children but said she will take “advantage of the adventures now”.

Adding: “I’m trying to push myself to keep saying yes to things that make me uncomfortable, to keep going to places for long periods of time that maybe I’m scared to do because, God willing, one day it won’t be as easy.”
