But they’re still fancier than sweatpants

Dakota Johnson has moved on from Fifty Shades of Grey — she’s all about a different color now.

On Sunday, the actress was seen grabbing some groceries for the week in a full beige-on-beige look. She wore a taupe sweater with matching fuzzy-looking pants and a pair of green sneakers. The warm cocoon-like sweater and sneakers were surely comfortable, but her pants were an especially genius pick.

Toeing the line between dressy and dressed down, the loose-fitting pants appeared to be less bulky but more done up than a pair of sweatpants. But, in combination with the teddy-esque fabric, the style felt more downplayed than fancier pairs of sweater pants, which we’ve seen Jennifer Aniston wear. Essentially, they’re the in-between pants you need this fall.

Ugg Terri Pant

Ugg

$108

Boots are one of the more popular buys from Ugg, but the brand also makes ultra-soft clothing, too. The Terri Pant looks cut from the same cloth as Johnson’s pair since they’re both a greige, or gray beige, color, and they both have a fuzzy texture that’ll remind you of a lush blanket. Hers looked more cropped, but that means you could wear these ones through the more cold-biting days to come.

One shopper said they’re “the most comfortable pants ever” and added that they feel “like heaven against [their] skin.” Sizes XS to 3X are still available, so grab them now and wear them with a large sweater to mimic the star’s look, or dress them down for lazy days with a coordinating plush top.

These wide-leg pants from Amazon are a less expensive way to steal Johnson’s style, and they’re 20 percent off when you click the coupon. They’re made from 100 percent acrylic fabric and designed with an elastic waistband that will be comforting when you don’t feel like squeezing into a pair of stiff jeans. They also come in black and gray, so you’re prepared on all color scheme fronts.

$42

You can also get a similar pair of pants and a matching sweater for as little as $42. “[It] feels like you're being hugged by a cloud,” one shopper described the set. Plus, both the top and bottoms have ribbed details along the collar and hems, and the pants have a tie waist, which together, look more formal than what you might wear to bed.

As Johnson proved, comfortable clothing and swanky styles definitely intersect. Don’t force yourself to be at a crossroads between the two — pick up a new pair of fall-friendly pants now. And don’t worry, we included more traditional styles without the fuzz, too.
