Dancing On Ice 2024: Ryan Thomas named favourite to win

Ryan Thomas has been named the odds-on favourite to win Dancing On Ice 2024 after his very first performance on the rink.

The former Coronation Street star and his professional skating partner Amani Fancy were awarded the top score of 26.5 out 30 following the launch of the new series of the ITV skating show.

As a result bookmakers are now tipping Thomas to win the contest, slashing his odds of being this year's Dancing On Ice champion from 7/1 to 3/1.

Sam Boswell, spokesperson for sports betting Site BetVictor, said: “Ryan Thomas stole the public’s hearts with his first skate on Sunday night and as a result we have seen him shorten to become our outright favourite at 3/1 to win this year’s edition of Dancing on Ice.

“Amber Davies was the favourite heading into the first show, but through no fault of her own has slipped down to third in the market, joined by Miles Nazaire with the pair 7/2.

“It is over a decade since Greg Rutherford tasted success at the London Olympics, but at 10/3 we give him a good chance of coming out on top on the ice this year.

“It was not a good night for Ricky Hatton who looks likely to suffer an early stoppage as he is the 100/1 outsider to be crowned Dancing on Ice champion."

The ITV show returned to screens on Sunday 14th January with host Holly Willoughby dazzling as she made her TV comeback for the first time since she quit This Morning after 14 years.

Thomas impressed judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean with his first spin on the ice to Kings of Leon's Sex On Fire. Boxer Ricky Hatton was given the lowest score of 12.5.

Among the celebrities still to make their skating debut in week two are Eddie Edwards, Adele Roberts, Ricky Norwood, Claire Sweeney, Lou Sanders and previous favourite Miles Nazaire.
